According to the Charlotte Observer, Jamie McBain has signed a two-year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. As a result, he's set to get $1.7 million in the 2012-13 campaign and $1.9 million in 2013-14.

By locking up McBain, the 'Canes ensure that they'll retain one of their best point producers along the blue line. He posted 19 assists and 27 points to lead all Carolina defenders this past year, while contributing regularly on the power play as well. His deal also means the club has a foundation of McBain, Justin Faulk, Tim Gleason and Joni Pitkanen signed along the back end through at least 2013-14.
