Marek Zidlicky Almost Ready for Action

Posted by Landon Ewaniuk on February 15, 2011 at 4:07 PM

Several sources are saying Marek Zidlicky could be joining his Minnesota Wild teammates as early as next week.  Throughout his career, Zidlicky has proven to be a very valuable fantasy hockey asset.  Before being sidelined by injury, Marek Zidlicky was performing at a good clip;  4 goals and 16 assists in 30 contests.  Pretty darn good for a defenseman!

Marek Zidlicky has missed the last 19 dates due to a shoulder injury.  As Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports, Zidlicky participated in full practice and extra battle drills for the first time on Monday.  The shoulder felt okay, but "it's not ready," Zidlicky said. "I feel comfortable right now, but it's still not ready yet. I don't want to say a couple more days, but we will see."

Fantasy hockey owners should not hesitate to activate Zidlicky off of free agency in about one week's time.  This player is the most predominant figure on the Wild blue line, so he will be a most welcome addition to any team in the midst of a top Western Conference playoff battle.
