As announced Wednesday, the New York Islanders will relocate to Brooklyn for the 2015-16 season. Signing a 25-year lease with the Barclays Center, owner Charles Wang will reportedly retain 100 percent ownership of the club.

As suggested by the above video, I think becoming the Brooklyn Islanders will only help the team become successful again. Let's not start talking, the rebirth of the dynasty, but let's say a little bit more consistent playoff success. Good to see a classic franchise get back on the right track. It is an exciting time for New York sports. the Islanders will be a fixture in New York for a long time because of this new deal!

This team is very close to being a playoff contender on a regular basis again. This deal will only help in the process.
