Since the last NHL lockout wiped out an entire season, the National Hockey League has done an excellent job promoting itself and increasing the viability of the sport. Now they are threatening to destroy all that progress with yet another strike marred season. A strike hurts everyone and helps no one in the end. It is my considered opinion that this was a problem that both the league and the players had a lot of time to solve, however they chose to hit the CBA puck further down the ice without addressing it. As a result we have the same mess that we had last time. Both sides are digging in their heels and who suffers? The fans first of all, but what about all those good people who make a livelihood because of hockey? All those rinks that will not be filled and their staff that will not have work. These guys are suppose to be adults, they need to understand the consequences to themselves, their sport and all of those effected in some way by the NHL. Compromise guys and get back on the ice! I love the AHL, but I do not want that to be the only game in town. As of right now, it is.
