Forward Teemu Hartikainen should get the plum opportunity to prove his value with the Edmonton Oilers this year. David Staples of the Edmonton Journal suggests the 22-year-old winger will play the majority of the 2012-13 campaign in the NHL.
"... This is the year the big Finn sticks, mainly because he's the most likely power forward on this team. He loves to hit and muck. If he somehow earns power play time, he could take time and points from (Nail) Yakupov or (Ales) Hemsky ..."
I personally favored Hartikainen making the Edmonton Oilers a season ago over the likes of Lennart Petrell, Anton Lander or Darcy Hordichuk.
Teemu Hartikainen is young like the rest of the core group. Plus, he adds size and strength with a mix of finesse. All the ingredients the Oilers were missing the past couple years... all in one package! (he) thev 2008 sixth round pick; I believe is the missing piece to a deadly offense.
