Goaltender Tim Thomas may not retire as a member of the Boston Bruins following the 2012-13 season. Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal suggests the Bruins could try to shop the veteran this summer.

According to CapGeek.com, Thomas' no-movement/no-trade clause expires July 1st. With plans to re-sign Rask (RFA) to a long-term deal, and Anton Khudobin locked in for another year, there's little doubt the Bruins would love to save the $5 million in cap space next season. If other NHL teams are interested in trading for Thomas, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli is at least expected to keep an open mind. A mid-season deal before the 2012-13 trade deadline could also be a possibility.
